Labyrinth (film, 2016)

Lohit, a civil engineer, abducts Omkar, the brother of the corrupt Minister of Justice, and holds him in an abandoned building under construction. The week before, the Minister of Justice ordered a mass brawl at the Law Academy. One of the students managed to escape, but he was seriously injured. He tells Lohit that the Minister of Justice is behind all this. He takes the student to the hospital with Sadhu, but the doctor says that he lost too much blood. Then Lohit finds Anjali, a college student, among random passers-by. She donates blood, but the next day the student dies, and his mother is beside herself with despair. Lohit takes this seriously and kidnaps Omkar. The next day, Omkar tries to escape, but the hero changes clothes, beats him and keeps him in another room. The Minister of Justice is trying to find him, but to no avail. Anjali finds out that Lohit kidnapped Omkar, but does not betray him.

The Minister of Justice is being arrested. Lohit releases Omkar, but he decides to take revenge. When the police spot Omkar, they chase him. He stops Lohit and asks him to give a ride. He manages to call the police. Soon Lohit leaves, leaving Omkar in the street. He learns that Lohit was his captor. Anjali later calls Omkar and tells him that he knows the kidnapper. She shows him an article that he crashed on a bicycle. Omkar realizes that Anjali is lying, so he abducts her and leads her to the same building where Lohit kept him for several days. Meanwhile, Inspector Raghu begins to interrogate the Minister of Justice. When the Minister of Justice tries to escape, Raghu shoots him. Omkar challenges Lohit. He rushes to his home, because he knows that he was going to abduct his mother. Lohit beats him in the building where Anjali is being held. Lohit manages to save her, but suddenly, when he takes her to the hospital, Omkar tries to attack him, but Raghu is killed.

In February 2015, director M. Saravanan announced that he would make a film on Kannada, in which the main character will be played by Punit Rajkumar . Telugu-speaking composer S. Taman was chosen to write music. The film was one of the most anticipated due to marketing.

As a heroine, the director chose Rachita Ram, for whom this was the first collaboration with Punit ^[1] . Initially, the role of the villain was claimed by Wamshi Krishna, who played in the original, but in the end another Tamil actor Arun Vijay was chosen instead, for whom this film became his debut in Sandalwood ^{[2] [3] [4] [5]} . Also, this film was the debut for Abhimanyu Singh, who is known for Telugu-language and Hindi-language films.

The film was shot in 2015 in Bangalore , the video for the song "Yenaithu" was shot in Portugal ^{[6] [7]} . Arun Vijay was injured during the shooting of battle scenes ^[8] .

The name of the protagonist - Lohit, was not really invented for the film, this is the real name of Punit Rajkumar, but the name of the hero is called only four times for the entire film, also only in the second half ^[9] .

Despite the fact that the film is a remake of Ivan Veramathiri , only the main storyline has been preserved from the original, since key scenes that were not in the original version were added to the script.

This film became a singing debut for two actors, NTR Jr. , who also debuted in Sandalwood , and Kajal Agarwal , who recorded the song for the first time in her career, although she never voiced her voice in Telugu and Tamil-speaking films ^{[10] [11] [12] [13] [14] [15]} .
