Ceratia [1] ( lat. Ceratias ) is a family of deep-sea ray - finned fish from the order of anglerfish (Lophiiformes), whose representatives live in great depths of the Atlantic , Indian and Pacific oceans.

Fish have very small eyes, which probably have lost their function. The mouth looks almost vertical. In dorsal fin 4, less often 5 soft rays, in anal fin four soft rays. In front of the dorsal fin are three fleshy outgrowths formed from rays of the fins.
Dwarf males parasitize on females by sticking to them [2] . The body length of females is from 24 to 120 cm [3] .
