Soltanov, Orazberdy Soltanovich

Born in 1957 in the village of Kelyata, Baharlyn district, Ashgabat region of the TSSR.

Higher education.

He graduated from the Tashkent Institute of Railway Transport, specializing in engineer for the operation of railways.

From 1974 to 1993 he worked at the Kelyat station of the Ashgabat branch of the Central Asian Railway. Then he served in the border troops. Since 1999, he worked in the Central Office of the State Fire Service of Turkmenistan. Since 2002 - Head of the Bekdash border detachment of the State Fire Service of Turkmenistan.

05/17/2004 - 11/03/2006 - Head of the State Border Service of Turkmenistan , commander of the border troops of Turkmenistan.

On November 3, 2006, at a meeting with the President of Turkmenistan and the leadership of the State Fire Service of Turkmenistan, he was awarded the Order for Great Love for Independent Turkmenistan, dismissed for health reasons and sent to work at the Ministry of Railway Transport for an unnamed position.

Announcing the decision to dismiss O. Soltanov from the post of head of the State Fire Service of Turkmenistan, President of Turkmenistan Saparmurat Niyazov accused him of arrogance and drunkenness. According to the president, the border troops commander, moving around Ashgabat by car, forced his subordinates to block roads for him.

Subjecting to a demanding analysis the activities of the chairman of the service, O. Soltanov, Saparmurat Turkmenbashi also made serious critical remarks to him, in particular, in connection with his inherent arrogance and addiction to alcohol. Such shortcomings of a leader of such a rank, the President emphasized, undermine the authority of the entire service.

In fairness, the head of state noted, the dignity of O. Soltanov, who knows how to work and organize business, must be recognized. We appreciate his services to the people, and this was reflected in the awarding of a high state award to him - the Order of the President of Turkmenistan "For Great Love for Independent Turkmenistan."

Presenting this award to O. Soltanov, Saparmurat Turkmenbashi thanked him for his service and sent him to work at the Ministry of Railway Transport. Moreover, Serdar noted, how a hereditary railway worker may serve faithfully for the benefit of the development of this industry, which occupies an important place in the structure of the national economy.
