The Anglo-Russian agreement of 1872-1873 or the Anglo-Russian demarcation of 1872-1873 is an international treaty concluded as a result of negotiations between the governments of the Russian and British empires from October 1872 to January 1873, which recognized the vast territories lying between Bukhara and the Afghan emirates, "buffer" in Central Asia between the two superpowers of that time [1] . On the formal side, the issue of “establishing peaceful and friendly relations between Bukhara and Kabul ” and the definition of the border line between these countries were mainly resolved [2] .
