Pronzhenko, Kristina Leonidovna

Kristina Leonidovna Pronzhenko (born , ) is a Tajik athlete , a specialist in short-distance running , hurdling and all-around . He plays for the national team of Tajikistan in athletics since 2013, the participant of the Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and many other major competitions, the record holder of the country in several disciplines.

Biography

Kristina Pronzhenko was born on December 10, 1988 in the urban-type settlement of Buston Matcha district of the Leninabad region of the Tajik SSR .

Began to go in for athletics at the age of 13, she underwent training under the guidance of her father, Leonid Nikolaevich Pronzhenko.

In 2012 she graduated from Khujand State University , where she studied at the faculty of physical education.

For the first time, she made herself known in athletics at the adult international level in the 2013 season, when she joined the main team of the Tajik national team and performed at the Asian Championships in Pune , where she finished the top ten in the heptathlon program.

In 2014, she visited the Asian Games in Inchon , where she became the eleventh in the heptathlon.

At the 2015 Asian Championships in Wuhan, it was again the tenth in the heptathlon, whereas at the World Championships in Beijing, it started 200 meters and took the 49th place.

In 2016, in the pentathlon, showed the fifth result at the Asian Indoor Championships in Doha . Thanks to a series of successful performances, she was awarded the right to defend the honor of the country at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro - in the women's 200 meters program, she showed time 25.53 and took 69th place.

After the Olympics, Pronzhenko remained in the track and field athletics team of Tajikistan and continued to take part in major international competitions. So, in 2017, she started at the Asian Championships in Bhubaneshwar in the 400 meters and 400 meters hurdles, having shown the sixth and ninth results in these disciplines, respectively. In addition, in hurdling ranked 39th at the World Championships in London .

In 2018, she marked her performance at the Asian Games in Jakarta , where she took 12th place in both of her disciplines: 400 meters sprint and 400 meters hurdles.

At the Asian championship in 2019 in Doha was the seventh in the 400-meter distance and the ninth in the 400-meter hurdles.

Being an active athlete, he also works as a children's track and field athletics coach [1] .

Her brother Alexander Pronzhenko is also a fairly successful athlete, a national record holder in the 400-meter race [2] .
