Janay

Dzhanay ( Tat. Canay , Җanay , جانای ) - Tatar prince, Kasimov ruler ( 1506 - 1512 ), the second son of Nur-Davlet khan, the younger brother of Satylgan , after which he took the throne.

He participated in the war with Kazan 1505-07. Back in April 1506, he commanded the Kasimov Tatars without a brother. And on October 16, 1506 , probably already after Satylgan’s death, he was ordered “to follow the Kazan news” to go to Murom.

In documents for 1508 it is known as the owner of the Meshchersky and Andreev towns . In the same year, during a campaign against the Lithuanian troops on Toropets , together with Prince Strigin-Obolensky commanded a regiment of "Gorodets" Tatars.

After the death of Dzhanay, the Bolshevik dynasty began to rule in Kasimov.
