The presidential election in Guatemala took place in January 1892 . As a result, a moderate member of the Liberal Party, Jose Reina Barrios , was elected president, receiving 55% of the vote. For the first time in elections in Guatemala, it was allowed to conduct an election campaign using local newspapers [1] .
