Biography
Born December 10, 1964 in the village of Shamraevka , Skvirsky district , Kiev region in the family of Nikolai Pavlovich (1935) and Nina Danilovna Giryavets (Konoplyanaya) [3] (July 20, 1942) [4] [5] [6] . At 15, she went to study in Kiev . She graduated from high school in the White Church and the Kiev College of Music named after Glier . After college from 1984 to 1990, he worked in the Kiev State Music Hall. First, the aspiring singer performed on stage as part of a vocal group, and then switched to solo concerts.
In 1990, she received the first award at the well-known USSR State Radio and Television Competition "New Names", and in 1991 she became a diploma winner in the "Asia Dauys 1991" competition in Almaty .
In 1993, she received a grand prix at the competition named after V. Ivasyuk “Let us help you” in Chernivtsi , and in Belarusian Vitebsk at the International Festival of Arts “ Slavic Bazaar ”. All this contributed to the rapid take-off of her career in Ukrainian show business.
In 1994, was named the best singer of Ukraine, as well as the best musician of the year in the national music television festival "New Stars of the Old Year" ("New Zirki of Old Rock").
In 1995, she released her debut album, “Panel Kohannya,” and a year later, in March 1996, received the title of Honored Artist of Ukraine . After another year and a half, a Decree was signed on awarding her the title of People's Artist of Ukraine .
In 1999, she participated in the All-Ukrainian tour “We Are Your Children, Ukraine”.
In 2000, a collection of clips “100 Minutes with Taisiya Povaliy” was released, and she also conducted active studio work with Joseph Kobzon in the recording of the album dedicated to Independence of Ukraine - “One Edina”.
In 2001, in the framework of the concert program “A Star Born by Ukraine”, she gave a charity concert for children in the recreation center “Ukraine”.
In the early 2000s, thanks to the filming of the musicals “Evenings on a Farm” and “Cinderella”, in which she performed the songs “Three Winters” and “Do not scare the groom away”, Povaliy became popular outside Ukraine, in particular in Russia and the CIS countries . Soon, she recorded a number of duets with Russian stars, including Nikolai Baskov and Stas Mikhailov .
On May 28, 2011, a personalized star was opened on the “Avenue of Stars” in Kiev on Khreshchatyk . In 2014, the star was destroyed by vandals [7] .
In 2015, she took part in the filming of the “ Just Like ” program on Channel One , where participants reincarnate as famous personalities.
Political Activities
In 2012, she ran for the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine as the second number of the Party of Regions . About 6 months was an adviser to the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych . Against the background of his short political activity, Taisiya Povaliy turned out to be the center figure of a high-profile political scandal connected with Sergey Vlasenko and his combination of political and entrepreneurial activities. During the period of revolutionary coups in Ukraine, difficult times began in the life of Povaliy. During the Maidan , when bloodshed took place in Kiev, the singer performed at a concert in the Kremlin, and then congratulated Crimeans at the celebration of Russian Independence Day in Yalta . With these actions, Povaliy provoked indignation among Ukrainian fans and politicians [9] . September 17, 2014, together with the deputy group "For Peace and Stability" visited the State Duma of Russia . [10] Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov called the trip of a number of people's deputies to the State Duma of the Russian Federation disrespectful to Ukraine and the betrayal of the country. It was also reported that the Main Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs opened criminal proceedings under the article on an encroachment on the territorial integrity of Ukraine. [11] During the growing confrontation around her performances in Russia, the singer canceled all concerts and festive events in Ukraine dedicated to her 50th birthday. [12]
In May 2014, Povaliy resigned from the Party of Regions faction, in the autumn of that year her powers as a People’s Deputy were terminated, the singer actually quit politics [13] and left for Russia [14] .
In September 2015, the Verkhovna Rada introduced a bill on the deprivation of the title "People's Artist of Ukraine" Ani Lorak , Taisiya Povaliy, Joseph Kobzon and Nikolai Baskov . [15]
Personal life
- 1982-1993 - the first marriage with keyboard musician Vladimir Ivanovich Povaliy (born June 6, 1959), who worked in the Kiev Music Hall , worked as the art director of the musical collective of the singer Ivo Bobul [16] , made backing tracks for , , Alla Kudlay and Taisiya Povaliy [17] , now works as an arranger in the presidential orchestra [6] . In 1993, the marriage ended in divorce.
