Ribonuclease T (RNase T, exonuclease T, exo T ) is a ribonuclease enzyme that acts upon the maturation of transport and ribosomal RNAs in bacteria [2] , as well as in DNA repair processes [3] .

Ribonuclease T is part of the DnaQ exonuclease family . It acts on the 3'-end of single-stranded nucleic acids and can cleave both DNA and RNA with high specificity discriminating the cytosine residue at the 3'-end of the substrate [1] [2] .
