Rumker Peak is a mountain peak of volcanic origin in the northwestern part of the visible side of the moon . In 1935, the peak was named in honor of the German astronomer Karl Rumker [1] .

Rumker Peak was formed from a shield volcano in the Eratosthenian period . The peak is located in the southern part of the lava plateau with a diameter of more than 70 km. The plateau lies isolated in the Ocean of Storms and rises to 1,100 m relative to the "marine" plain.
On December 2019, the landing of the Chang'e-5 unmanned probe is planned in the vicinity of the peak [2] .
