Alexei Georgievich Barantsev (born 1959) is a Russian entrepreneur in the metallurgical industry, Honored Metallurgist of the Russian Federation , former Director General of the Krasnoyarsk and Bratsk Aluminum Plants and GAZ, now the head of the engineering and construction division of the incorporated Rusal company [1] .

Biography
A native of the village of Ust-Barguzin. He graduated from the Irkutsk Polytechnic Institute with a degree in metallurgical engineering [2] , and began his career in 1985 at the Tajik Aluminum Plant, where he worked until the collapse of the USSR. After the collapse of the USSR, he worked until 1998 at the Bratsk Aluminum Plant, where he held the following posts:
- Deputy Head of the Department of Logistics [2]
- Deputy Head of MTS in the Office of Industrial and Technological Equipment [2]
- Head of Electrolysis Shop No. 2 (since 1994) [2]
- Technical Director of the plant (since 1996) [2]
From August to October 1998, he served as executive director of the Krasnoyarsk aluminum smelter, in October 1998 he was appointed its general director, and worked until May 2000. From July 2000 to June 2002, he was the General Director of the Bratsk Aluminum Plant, and from February 2002, he was the Deputy General Director for new construction of Russian Aluminum Management OJSC [2] . Later he studied in the UK under a special program for top managers and trained in France. Since July 2002, he was the First Deputy General Director of GAZ OJSC (in August he was appointed General Director) [2] .
In October 2005, he became Deputy General Director at RusPromAvto LLC, and later was Deputy Executive Director. Since mid-2006, First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board (Head) of the Nizhny Novgorod block RusPromAvto, later renamed GAZ. In January 2007, he was appointed Director of the Automotive Components Division, and later was Director of Production and Restructuring of the GAZ Group and First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board. Since July 2007 - Director for Development of Operations [2] .
In 2008, he held the position of First Deputy General Director for Production of Russian Machines OJSC [3] , in 2008-2011, he was General Director of Glavstroy Management CJSC and PSK Transstroy LLC. Since the end of May 2012, he has been the head of the RUSAL engineering and construction division, responsible for improving the management of repair activities in factories, managing construction projects, modernizing and introducing new technologies [2] . Currently, she also periodically gives lectures at the Technical Institute of the Irkutsk Region [1] .
