Anaxandra

Anaxander ( Greek Ἀναξάνδρα ; ca. 220s BC) is an ancient Greek artist [1] . Daughter and student of Nilkes , an artist of mythological and genre scenes [2] . Years of activity approx. 228 BC er [3] Mentioned by Clement of Alexandria , a 2nd-century Christian theologian, in his section Stromateis (Miscellaneous) entitled " Women, as well as men, capable of perfection ." as its source. Clement quotes the lost work of the Hellenistic scholar Didim Halcenter (I century BC). [four]

In 1994, the International Astronomical Union named her a large crater (20 km in diameter) on Venus [5] . Writer Caroline B. Cooney named her the main character of his novel The Goddess of Yesterday (2003) , which takes place during the Trojan War [6] .
