He played for the clubs Dynamo (Zagreb) , Zagreb and Servette , as well as the national team of Yugoslavia [1] .

Club career

In adult football he made his debut in 1947 with appearances for the team of the Sarajevo club , in which he spent four seasons.

His game attracted the attention of the coaching staff of the Dynamo club (Zagreb) , which he joined in 1952. He played for the “Dynamo” the next three seasons of his playing career. During this time he won the title of champion of Yugoslavia .

In 1955, he signed a contract with the Zagreb club , which included spent the next three years of his career.

Since 1959 he played in Switzerland - he defended the colors of the Servette club for three seasons, with whom he won the Swiss championship twice. He completed his professional playing career at the Sion club , for which he played for 1962-1966. During this time, he added to the list of his trophies the title of holder of the Swiss Cup .

Team appearances

In 1954, he held his only official match in the national team of Yugoslavia . In the same year, she was a member of the World Cup in Switzerland , where, however, he remained a reserve player and did not enter the field.

Coach Career

He began his coaching career, while still playing on the field, in 1963 he headed the coaching staff of the Sion club for which he played.

In 1967 he became the head coach of Zurich , who in the first season led to victory in the national championship , after which he coached the team from Zurich for another year.

Later he was the head coach of the Xamax club , during 1972-1975 and from 1979 to 1980 [2] .

He died on December 1, 2008 at the 80th year of his life in Zurich .
