In the synchronized swimming competition at the 2020 Summer Olympics will be able to take part 104 female athletes who will compete for 2 sets of awards. Each country can be represented by one group and one duet, but at the same time the number of athletes who have the right to speak at the Games is limited to 8 synchronized swimmers.

Qualification Rules
All Olympic licenses will be awarded on the basis of continental competitions, as well as the final Olympic qualification. 10 teams will take part in the group competitions, and 22 quotas are allocated for duos. The national team of Japan, as the mistress of the competition, is guaranteed a place in groups [1] .
