Catholic church of Saints Peter and Paul ( Belorussian. Castel of Saints Piatra i Paўla ) is a Catholic church in the village of Starye Vasilishki, Schuchin district, Grodno region, Belarus . Located on the western edge of the village. The temple belongs to the Shchuchin dean of the Grodno diocese . It is included in the State list of historical and cultural values of the Republic of Belarus [1] .

Content
History
The Catholic parish in Old Vasilishki was founded in 1485 [2] . The current church of Saints Peter and Paul was built in 1897-1903 from red brick according to the project of 1897 by the Polish architect Konstantin Wojciechowski. Consecrated in 1905.
In 1932, there were 4992 parishioners. In 1953, during the period of church persecution, the church was closed, returned to believers in 1988 [2] .
The church was built on voluntary funds of parishioners, whose names are embossed on the lime blocks of the basement. In Soviet times, on the orders of local authorities, the names of the donors were covered with cement [3] .
By the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus dated September 21, 2010 No. 1351, the church was included in the State List of Historical and Cultural Values of the Republic of Belarus as a historical and cultural value of regional significance (category 3) [1] .

Catholic church of Saints Peter and Paul in Old Basilisky is a neo-Gothic architectural monument. Solved according to the canon of the three-nave two-tower basilica . The architectural composition of the temple is subordinated to a vertical orientation: 3 low faceted apses turn into a long volume of a nave covered with a high gable red tile , three-tier towers have faceted spiers , stepped buttresses . The main facade is distinguished by vimpergas , lancet, filled with ornamental bizarre binding openings and a rose window in the center. Three incoming lancet portals are decorated with sculptural bas-relief ceramic panels.
Interior
In the interior, the space is divided by powerful pillars into 3 naves and covered with high lancet arches. On eight mezhnefsevyh columns installed sculptures of the apostles. On the side bas-relief paintings, panels and window stained glass windows depict the Way of the Cross of Christ . The main, 2 backstage and 2 side wooden altars , pulpit , benches for parishioners are made in exquisite forms of Gothic . Stained-glass windows, frescoes, sculpture, chasing, wood carving, ceramics create a highly artistic environment of the temple.
A memorial plaque was installed in the church to the Polish musician Cheslav Nemen , who was born in Old Vasilishki.
