Keiino (often styled as KEiiNO ; pronounced kæino) is a Norwegian group consisting of rapper Fred Bulho, as well as Norwegian singers Alexandra Rotan and Tom Hugo. The group was created at the end of 2018 in preparation for participating in the Melodi Grand Prix 2019.

As a result of winning the Melodi Grand Prix (2019), the group presented Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with the song “ Spirit in the Sky ” [1] . The group took 1st place in the audience’s vote, gaining 291 points, but received significantly less points from the jury, gaining a total of 231 points, and thus taking the 200th place in the competition as a whole [2] .
History
The group was created in late summer 2018 when Tom Hugo Hermansen began writing Spirit in the Sky , a song inspired by the historic struggle for equality. Later they were joined by rapper Fred-Rene Bouillot and singer Alexandra Rotan. The name of the group Keiino was inspired by the name of the hometown of Bulo Kautokeino ( S. Samsk. Guovdageaidnu ). The last part of -geaidnu translates as the "path" or "road" of which Buljo speaks of; “Represents the road that brought us together,” the band admitted in an interview with TV 2 [3] .
