The Turkmen State Publishing Service (TGIS) (Turkmen. Türkmen Döwlet Neşirýat Gullugy (TDNG)) is a government body that provides high-quality printed materials and manages publishing and printing in Turkmenistan.

History
On January 17, 1990, by a resolution of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Turkmen SSR, the Union-Republican Committee of the Turkmen SSR for Publishing, Printing and Book Trade was renamed the Union-Republican State Committee of the Turkmen SSR for Press.
On August 10, 1992, the State Press Committee of the Turkmen SSR was transformed into a Press Committee under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan .
On August 11, 1992, by a resolution of the President of Turkmenistan “in order to eliminate departmental fragmentation, rational use of financial, material and technical resources and production potential”, the publishing house “Metbugat” was established with the publishing house of the Government of Turkmenistan and the publishing house of the Central Council of the Youth Union of Turkmenistan named after Makhtumkuli submission to the Committee on Press under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan .
On December 22, 1994, the Regulation on Publishing in Turkmenistan was adopted, which determined the procedure for licensing the right to engage in publishing for the period until the adoption of the Law of Turkmenistan “On Publishing Activities”.
On February 11, 1997, the Press Committee under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan was abolished. The functions of the abolished Committee were transferred to the Turkmenmetbugat State Production Association, which was created on the basis of the Metbugat editorial and publishing association subordinate to the abolished Committee. The creative work department of the abolished Committee was transferred to the central apparatus of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan .
On March 10, 1999, the Turkmenmetbugat State Production Association was liquidated and its functions were assigned to the Press Directorate under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan .
On January 16, 2001, the Office of the Press under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan was abolished, and the Turkmen State Publishing Service was created in its place. At the same time, the publishing houses “Turkmenistan”, “Magaryf”, “Turkmenblankizdat” were abolished, their functions were transferred to the Turkmen State Publishing Service.
On November 8, 2014, the Law of Turkmenistan on Publishing was adopted.
Structure
The central office of TGIS consists of 5 departments:
- Production and technical department;
- Department for the preparation of printed materials and coordination of printing enterprises;
- Department of Finance, Accounting, Reporting and Auditing;
- Department of material support and capital construction;
- Maintenance department.
The structure of TGIS includes the following enterprises and organizations:
- Ashgabat Printing House;
- Printing house of Lebap province;
- Printing house of Mary province;
- Printing House of Dashoguz Province;
- Printing house of the city of Turkmenbashi;
- Printing house of the city of Serdar;
- Printing house of the city of Anau;
- Logistics support enterprise “Turkmensnabpechat”;
- State Book Chamber of Turkmenistan;
- Self-supporting editorial association.
