Biography
She was born in 1923 in the village of Titovo, West Siberian Territory, now the Industrial District of the Kemerovo Region.
She began her career at the Zarya state farm in the Promyshlennovsk district in 1942 as a worker.
Fulfilling the decision of the February (1947) Plenum of the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks "On measures to raise agriculture in the post-war period," the leadership of the Zarya state farm decided to organize ten field links. One of them was entrusted to lead Gavrilova Antonina Vasilievna, who worked in animal husbandry. The young worker did not want to part with the animals, but a sense of duty, responsibility for the task entrusted prevailed.
Link Antonina Gavrilova after the appointment got acquainted with the sites of snow retention and began sowing work. By mid-May 1948, the link under her leadership had finished spring sowing. A high yield of rye was recorded this field season. The crops were dense and it was impossible to remove them with a combine. The field farmer carried out manual cleaning. The result was a rye crop of 29.4 centners per hectare on an area of 30 hectares.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 25, 1949, Antonina Vasilievna Gavrilova was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor for the production performance on obtaining a rye crop with the Order of Lenin and the Hammer and Sickle medal.
Later she continued to work at the state farm until she went on a well-deserved rest.
She died on May 20, 2004.
