Biography
Born in 1921 in the village of Kichigino, Vologda Province [1] . Russian. By her twenties, she knew all the peasant work.
During the Great Patriotic War, she was sent to work in the mining town of Monchegorsk . There she studied as an operator of steam boilers, received a certificate of completion of courses. In addition, she received a specialty machinist mine lift. She began to work in this specialty. The work was dangerous, it was necessary to raise and lower the cage with the miners into the mine.
In Monchegorsk she married Mamai Vasily Alexandrovich, Belarusian by nationality. In 1947 she returned to the Vologda region to her parents, the first daughter Valentina was born here. Husband could not move, not released from Monchegorsk. Later, the young family fell apart.
From 1947 to 1955, Anna Alexandrovna worked in the field brigade of the Druzhba collective farm. In 1950, her second daughter Tamara was born, but family life with a new spouse again failed. I had to raise two daughters alone.
In 1955, the first eight black-and-white cows were brought to the Druzhba collective farm from another farm. They entrusted the care of them to Anne Mamai. So she became a breeder. The case she loved it. She milked cows all her work experience on the farm by hand. If before the arrival of Anna Alexandrovna to the farm, the milk yield was no more than a thousand kilograms, then from 1955 they began to grow rapidly. In 1957 - 3000 kilograms, 1962 - 3600 kilograms, and by 1966 - 4500 kilograms of milk per cow per year. These were record numbers.
By the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated March 22, 1966, for the achieved production indicators for milk yield, Anna Alexandrovna Mamai was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Sickle and Hammer medal.
The awards were presented to her at the XXIII Congress of the CPSU, to which she was delegated. Elected deputy of the district and regional Soviets. Member of the CPSU.
In April 1971, due to health reasons, she stopped working, retiring.
Died in 1987.
