Mark Hadlow ( born Mark Hadlow ; born , ) is an Australian-New Zealand theater, film and television actor, also occasionally performs songs in films and acts as a voice actor. Biography

Mark Selwin Hadlow was born in 1957 in the town of ( New South Wales , Australia ). His father was a vicar from New Zealand, his mother is an Australian. Shortly after the birth of a son, the family moved to Perth ( Western Australia ), then they lived for three years in the Indian city ​​of Chennai , and when Mark was nine years old they came to New Zealand, where they first lived in Wellington and then settled in Christchurch . Here the young man graduated from high school, and then the College of Christ [1] .

Hadlow served in the Navy ( Reserve of volunteers - a trumpeter in the orchestra), has the rank of lieutenant - commander ( lieutenant commander ) [1] .

Since 1979, Hadlow began acting in television series, since 1981 - in films. In 2010, the actor was offered the prominent role of the gnome Dory in the Hobbit movie trilogy [2] . Despite by no means a gnomish height of 170 cm, Hadlow coped well with this role in all three tapes.

Hadlow plays at the Theater, and also acts as a theater producer and director. In December 2009, he initiated the renovation of Theater in Christchurch (at that time - one of only three of the country's current theaters built in the 19th century). Hadlow began raising funds for this purpose, planning to raise $ 60 million [3] . In February 2011, the city was partially destroyed by a strong earthquake , the Odeon suffered very serious damage and was completely demolished the following year [4] .

In 2017, Mark Hadlow was awarded the Order of Merit “for the service of art” [5] .

Personal life

At the end of the 20th century, Mark Hadlow was married for four years to a woman named Sarah Hood. After this, a divorce followed, the daughter Olivia (born 1996 or 1997) remained from the marriage. In 2002, Hadlow met a woman named Jane Carpenter. The following year, she became his second wife. The actor had a stepdaughter named Sarah (born 1978 or 1979; works as a lawyer in the Red Cross in Pakistan ) [1] .
