Richard Lyn Jones ( born June 5, 1964 in Kumafan) is a Welsh rugby player who played as a flanker, and is a rugby coach who is the current head coach of the Russian rugby team [1] .

Biography
When he was a player, he played in the position of an open-side flanker (right flanker), played for amateur Welsh teams “Nit”, “Llanelli” and “Treorki”, played a total of 385 games for these clubs. In 1993, he played five matches for the Wales national team, marked another 10 games for the second Wales national team [1] .
From 1994 to 2003 he worked as a coach at the Nit Club, winning the Wales Championship in 1995 with this team. In 2003-2008, he headed the Ospreyz club after its formation, and left the post of coach on May 16, 2008, by mutual agreement with the club’s management. Under the leadership of Jones, Ospreyz won the Celtic League twice in the 2004/2005 and 2006/2007 seasons, as well as the Anglo-Welsh Cup in 2008. Since November 2008, he was an assistant coach for Newport Gwent Dragons, and in June 2009 he went to work in Abu Dhabi (UAE), where he was a coach of the British school rugby team [1] . In June 2011, Lin Jones led the English club London Welch [2] , with whom he entered the Premier League. In 2013, he became a Newport Gwent Dragons club coach (also simply Dragons club) [3] , finally gaining a foothold after Darren Edwards left February 2014 [4] .
In June 2014, Kingsley Jones became the head coach of the “Dragons” [5] , and in April 2016, Lin Jones left the coaching staff. In November 2016, Lin Jones was appointed coach of the Welvichiaz club "- the farm club of the Namibian national team or its second squad, which played in the Curry Cup in 2017 [6] .
On August 3, 2018, Lin Jones became the head coach of the Russian rugby team, signing a contract under the 1.5 + 2 scheme. The contract was concluded 3 months after the Russian national team received a ticket to the 2019 World Cup by a ruling instead of the disqualified Romania national team [1] . As a goal, Jones was set up for the World Cup [7] .
Personal life
There is a son, Luke , a professional rugby player.
