Career
From 1975 to 1986 she played for the national team of Great Britain. She performed at the three Summer Olympics (1976, 1980 and 1984), first in two, then in solo, where she achieved the best results: in Moscow she took fifth place, and four years later in Los Angeles became the sixth.
Her silver medal in the women's single event at the World Championships in Munich (1981) was the first medal won by the British at the world championships in rowing, and her victory with Lin Clark in the women's lightweight championship at the World Championships in Belgian Hazewinkel (1985 ) - the first gold for the British women's team in any championships. Also won the regatta Princess Royal Challenge Cup (1982).
Originally trained as a dance teacher at the Chelsea College of Physical Education in Eastbourne , then continued to receive education as a coach. She worked as a physical education teacher from Streetham. In 1990, she was appointed Chair of the Training Committee of the Amateur Rowing Association. She became the first woman to become a member of the prestigious rowing club - Leander Club (1997). In the 1990s - coach at the Lady Eleanor Holles School, the leading British private school for girls. In the 2000s. moved to Australia, where she coached the team of the Drummoin Rowing Club in Sydney, Australia. For several years, she was the head rowing coach at Sydney High School for Boys.
Tragically died from the consequences of the accident, when she crashed into the back of a parked car, taking part in a 50-km bike ride in the Olympic Park of Sydney.
