Nikolay Tokarev was sent to the Vocational School at the Imperial Academy of Arts (1798) eleven years old. He studied at the Academy of Arts until 1812. He received medals: a small silver (1809), a large silver medal (1811) for the bas-relief: “Vladimir and Rogneda” , a small gold medal (1812) under the program “To present in action the famous Nizhny Novgorod citizen Kozma Minin, who prompted the hearts of all his fellow citizens to donate everything property for the salvation of the Fatherland . " Issued a certificate of the 1st degree of completion of the course of the Academy with a sword (1812). He was retired at the Academy for five years and was appointed a drawing teacher at academic classes. [one]
