Oleg Anatolievich Kurguskin (born April 11, 1966 , Elista , USSR ) is a speedway racer, international-class master of sports , head coach of the Mega-Lada ( Togliatti ) club. Twelve-time champion of Russia in the team competition, four-time champion of Russia in the individual competition, three-time champion of Russia in the doubles, vice world champion in the Russian team, three times winner of the European Champions Cup.

Biography
The name of the rider was originally supposed to be written as “Kurguzskin”, however, the Elista passport office employees made a mistake when completing documents, skipping the letter “z” [1] .
In childhood, he was engaged in various sports: athletics, football, basketball, wrestling, swimming, tennis. At the age of 14 he got into the speedway section in his native Elista . At 16, he was taken as a junior to the local Typhoon team . The first coach is Vyacheslav Merkulov.
In 1987 he became the champion of the USSR among juniors. Since 1987 - in the national team at various international competitions. In 1989 and 1991 he became vice-champion of the USSR in the individual competition.
In 1992 he moved to the Circassian team “Monolith” , in 1994 - to the Togliatti team “Zhiguli” (later “Mega-Lada”), in which he won the national team championship twelve times and four times the personal one.
In 1996, he became vice world champion in the Russian national team.
Since 2003 - the head coach of the team, in 2003-2009. combined the positions of racer and coach.
In 2013, under the leadership of O. Kurguskin, Mega-Lada won the national championship for the thirteenth time.
In 1988 he married, wife Irina, son Anatoly, speedway judge of the first category.
Brother Evgeni Kurguzskin also took part in speedway competitions as part of Mega-Lada, and later as a team mechanic.
In addition to the cinder speedway, he took part in speedway racing on the grass and long track , the highest achievement was the 1998 European vice champion in track racing on the grass.
