History
The first continental track disciplines competitions were held in 1963 as part of the Asian Cycling Championship.
In 2014, the decision was made (in 2016 - approved [1] ) to divide, from 2017, the continental championship into two independent tournaments - road and track cycling, held in different countries and in different months of the same year [2] .
Both competitions inherited the tournament numbering: so, if the Asian championship in cycling in 2016 was the 36th, in 2017 the Asian championships in road and track cycling became the 37th in a row.
