History
The Syzran Heavy Engineering Plant , which later became known as Tyazhmash JSC, was established in 1941, shortly after the outbreak of World War II , on the basis of the evacuated Lyudinovsky Engineering Plant.
The machine-building plant in the city of Lyudinovo near Kaluga was founded in 1745 by industrialist Nikita Demidov on the basis of the Zhizdrinsk iron ore deposits. In 1941, the Lyudinovsky plant was evacuated to Syzran, where it was engaged in the manufacture of mines of various calibers and shells of sea mines. In 1945, the plant was redesigned to produce civilian products - locomobiles , called the Syzran Locomobile Plant . [2] Three years later, in 1949, the plant mastered the production of blower machines (sinter and booster boosters) for metallurgical production. [9]
In 1951, the company changed its profile, starting the production of hydroturbine equipment, and the name - Syzran hydroturbine plant . [2] Syzran hydroturbines were installed at Varvara, Kama , Kairakkum , Kamenskaya, Kuibyshev , Ust-Khantai , Cheboksary and other hydroelectric power stations. In eight years, the plant manufactured 36 turbines. [2]
In 1956, the company mastered the production of a new type of product - ball mills for ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy and in 1957 it was renamed the Syzran Heavy Machine Building Plant (SZTM). [2] In addition to equipment for metallurgical plants in Syzran, machines were also produced for chemical plants under construction in Ufa , Sterlitamak , Tolyatti , Berezniki , Volgograd and other cities. [9]
In the late 1950s, the plant began to manufacture assembly, transport and testing equipment for the space program. So, the enterprise participated in the creation of a missile complex for the Soviet lunar program , equipment and stands, separate large units for the N-1 launch vehicle were manufactured in Syzran. [2] [10] The Syzran production facilities equipped the launch complexes of the Baikonur and Plisetsk cosmodromes . [9]
In 1976, the company was renamed the Syzran Turbine Building Plant . [2]
In the 1980s, Tyazhmash began to produce equipment for the nuclear industry and the space industry. The company is involved in the manufacture of equipment for MTKS Energia-Buran . [11] Since the late 1980s, the plant has been the main supplier of mechanical equipment for the RATAN-600 radio telescope of the Zelenchukskaya radio astronomy observatory. [2]
In 1990, the company was returned to its former name - the Syzran Heavy Machine-Building Plant , and in 1993, as part of the privatization of enterprises in Russia, it was transformed into the Tyazhmash joint-stock company. [2]
In 1998, the plant manufactured the first of three RTF-32 radio telescopes with a mirror diameter of 32 meters for one of the observation points of the KVDZ network “Kvazar-KVO” [12] and produced the first tunneling shield “Quartz” for laying underground communications. [2]
In 2004, the owners and management of Tyazhmash JSC changed. At the beginning of the year, the Cyprus-registered company Steola Trading Limited and 3 Moscow firms (Promtyazhmashinzhiniring CJSC, Promenergosbyt CJSC and Energoinvest Holding Company LLC) acquired a controlling stake from the then general director of the enterprise Vladimir Panteleev, Nefgel OJSC ”And ZAO Metallurgspetsoborudovanie. In September of that year, the Syzran company was headed by Sergey Trifonov, a representative of new shareholders. [13]
Since the mid -2000s, Tyazhmash has been producing equipment for hydropower ( Zaramagskaya HPP [14] Yumaguzinskaya HPP , [2] Saratovskaya HPP [15] , Chaparral HPP in Salvador , [16] , Nam Na HPP in Vietnam [ 17] ) Corumba HPP ( Brazil ) [2] ; heat power engineering ( Berezovskaya TPP , TPP in Sovetskaya Gavan [18] , Khonsha TPP in Laos [19] , Bar TPP in India [2] ); mining industry ( Lebedinsky GOK , Almalyk MMC in Uzbekistan [20] ); Cosmodromes ( Kourou in French Guiana , East [21] [22] [23] ).
In 2010, Tyazhmash became the owner of the Czech company ČKD Blansko Holding, which is engaged in the production of equipment for hydroelectric power stations and wind power stations, steel structures and so on. [8] [24]
Since the beginning of the 2010s, Tyazhmash has been developing the production of equipment for nuclear energy, in particular, the company has supplied polar cranes to the Leningrad NPP-2 and Rostov NPP [25] , and equipment for a reactor plant for the Tianwan NPP in China [26] .
In 2017, Tyazhmash JSC won the tender for the supply of products for the Ruppur NPP in Bangladesh [27] and was recognized as the winner in the tender for the development of a project for the technical re-equipment, manufacture and installation of hydraulic turbines for the Irkutsk hydroelectric station [28] .
In 2018, Tyazhmash JSC entered into a contract with the Severnaya Verf Shipyard for the manufacture of a batch of bridge electric cranes, their supply, installation, commissioning and transfer of operational skills [29] .
In 2019, Tyazhmash JSC entered into an agreement with PJSC Ural Heavy Machinery Plant for the supply of cranes for the Center for the Construction of Large-tonnage Marine Structures (TsSMS) in the Kola Bay [30] .
