Content
History
In the 1871 List of Populated Places of the Russian Empire (according to 1868–1869), the settlement is mentioned as a state-owned village of Kalmatskoye, Ishim district, Tobolsk province , at Lake Kalmatsky, located 104 versts from the district center of the city of Ishim . The village had 350 yards and 1666 people (832 men and 834 women). There was an Orthodox church [2] .
In 1926, there were 500 households in the village and 2386 people lived (1159 men and 1227 women). The first-level school functioned. Administratively, it was the center of the Kalmak village council of the Berdyuzh district of Ishim district of the Ural region [3] .
Geography
The village is located in the southern part of the Tyumen region, in the forest-steppe zone, within the Ishim plain , on the isthmus between the lakes Sladkoe, Kozlovo and Zhiloye, at a distance of about 27 kilometers (in a straight line) to the south-east of the village of Armizonskoye , the administrative center of the region. The absolute height is 141 meters above sea level [4] .
