The early years
Bruce Glover was born in Chicago, Illinois, in the family of Eva Elvira (née Hedström) and Herbert Homean Glover. It has English Swedish roots.
Glover was drafted into the U.S. Army, which served from 1953 to 1955, where he served six months in Korea.
Career
He began acting in numerous television shows, including “My Favorite Martian” (1963), “ Perry Mason ” (episode “The Case of the Golden Girls” 1965), “Rat Patrol” (1966), “Hawk” (1966), The Mod Squad (1968), Smoke from the Barrel (1969), Mission Impossible (1970), Bearcats! (1971), and The Father and Father Gang (1977). In 1978, he appeared in the episode "Barney Miller": "Prisoner."
In 1971, Glover and jazz musician Putter Smith portrayed the murderers of Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd in the James Bond movie “ Diamonds Are Forever .”
Glover played the leader of a motorcycle gang known as Bach in "Adam 12" (episode "Magazine 103: Sound Like Thunder," 1969). He also played the village thug, harassing teenagers in the drama “ Bless the Beasts and Children ” (1971), relying on the crafty James Coburn to pay off his debts in Hard Times (1975), and made another ice role as Duffy in Chinatown (1974). He also appeared as “Captain Water,” a Soviet military officer, in the episode “Doomsday and Counting” on the TV series “A Man for Six Million Dollars.”
Glover also appeared as Deputy Grady Cocker in the films “Walking Wide” (1973) and the sequel: Walking Wide, Part 2 (1975) and Walking Wide: The Final Chapter (1977). He remained busy throughout the 1980s and 1990s with a large number of guest roles in television shows, including Spouses Hart (1981), TJ Hooker (1982), Dukes from Hazzard (1979), CHiPs (1978) and “ Team A” (1983). He also appeared in the films Ghost City (1988), Popcorn (1991), and Warlock: Armageddon (1993).
In the 1950s, Glover began teaching acting. In the 1970s, he taught acting classes at Indian Actors Workshops and had various acting studios in Los Angeles, California. In the 1990s, Glover added an extra level to his residence in West Los Angeles to host an acting studio.
In the last years of his career, Glover gave an interview to Chris Able in the cable television show Hollywood Today (1995) and starred in the films Scarecrow Night (1995), Die Hard Dracula (1998) and The Phantom World (2001).
