Hedwig Lerke Berg Rasmussen ( Dat. Hedvig Lærke Berg Rasmussen ; born , ) is a Danish rower who has been playing for the Danish rowing team since 2012. Biography
Hedwig Rasmussen was born on December 22, 1993 in Frederiksberg , Denmark . She started rowing in 2011, was trained in Copenhagen at the Danish Student Rowing Club.
She made her rowing debut at the international level in 2012, performing in oar wheelless deuces at the youth world championship in Lithuania.
In 2013, in doubles, she won a silver medal at the Youth World Championships in Austria. Once in the main part of the Danish national team, made her debut in the World Cup, visited the adult European Championships in Seville , where she became the fourth in the standings of the doubles.
In 2014, she performed at two stages of the World Cup and at the European Championship in Belgrade .
In 2015, she won a bronze medal in oar wheelless deuces at the World Cup in Lucerne. In addition, she started in the same discipline at the European Championships in Poznan and at the World Championships in Egbolet , but could not get into the number of winners here.
Thanks to a series of successful performances, she was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro . Together with her partner, Anne Andersen finished third in the program for the steering wheelless two behind the crews from the UK and New Zealand - thereby winning the bronze Olympic medal [1] .
After the Olympics, Rasmussen remained in the Danish rowing team and continued to take part in major international regattas. So, in 2017, in wheelless deuces, she took bronze at the World Championships in Sarasota and silver at the European Championships in Rachitsa. In addition, she became a bronze medalist at the World Cup in Lucerne.
In 2018, in the steering wheelless fours she won a silver medal at the World Cup in Lucerne, participated in the World Championships in Plovdiv , where she showed the fourth result in the final.
