Klein Radish or Radšovk ( German: Klein Radisch ; V.-puddle. Radšowk ) Is a village in Upper Luzice , Germany . It is part of the Boksberg commune of the Goerlitz district in Saxony . Submits to the administrative district of Dresden .

Content

Geography

It is located in the southern part of the Luzhitsky Lakes region on the border with the biosphere reserve " Wasteland and Lake Superior Luzitsa ". In the north of the village is the highway S 121 and there are several dozens of artificial fish ponds.

Neighboring settlements: in the north - the village of Rychvald , in the east - the administrative center of the commune Kreba-Neudorf and the village of Chernsk , in the southeast - the village of Mikov , in the south - the village of Dolga-Borsch , in the south-west - the villages of Toureu and Tsympl , on in the west - the villages of Yamno and Voleshnitsa and in the north-west - the village of Dyrbakh [2] .

History

First mentioned in 1658 under the name Ratzschholtz [3] .

From 1973 to 2009 it was part of the commune of Klitten . Since 2009, it has been part of the modern commune of Boxberg [4] .

Currently, the village is part of the cultural and territorial autonomy of the “ Luzhitsky Settlement Region ”, on the territory of which there are legislative acts of the lands of Saxony and Brandenburg, contributing to the preservation of the Luzhitsky languages and the culture of Luzhic [5] [6] .

Population

The official language in the village, in addition to German , is also Upper Luzhsky .

According to the statistical work “Dodawki k statisticy a etnografiji łužickich Serbow” by Arnost Muki, in 1884, 102 people lived in the village (85 of them were Serbluzhichans (83%)) [8] .

The Luzhitsky demographer Arnosht Chernik in his work Die Entwicklung der sorbischen Bevölkerung indicates that in 1956, with a total population of 46 people, the Serbluzhitsky population of the village was 52.2% (of which 20 adults and 4 minors were fluent in Upper Luzhitsky) [9] .
