Content

Early years

Webber-Gale is Jewish, [1] and was born in Stevens Point , Wisconsin . He graduated from Nicoleta High School in Glendale , Wisconsin , in 2003. [2] He then competed in the University of Texas swimming and diving team at the University of Texas from 2003 to 2007. In 2006, he became the NCAA Champion in Division I.

Career

Champion of the qualification for the 2008 Olympic Games of the US Championship at distances of 50 and 100 meters freestyle 47.92 and 21.47 seconds, respectively. His 21.47 time in the 50 meter pool was an American record. With a time of 47.78 in the preliminary race in the 100 freestyle race, he became the first American to leave 48 seconds in this tournament. [3]

At the 2008 Summer Olympics, Weber Gale was a member of the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay team, and the team was named the best in the history of swimming. [4] Weber-Gale Olympic champion in the relay 4 × 100 m combined [5] .


At the 2009 World Championships, Weber Gale sailed the start stage of the 4 × 100 m freestyle in the preliminary competitions for 48.30. World champion 2009 in the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay.

In 2013, Weber Gale was selected as the flagship of the US national team at the opening ceremony of the 19th Maccabian Games . At the games he won two gold medals; one at a distance of 100 m freestyle with a result of 48.99 seconds and the second at a distance of 50 m freestyle with a game record of 0:22:12 (MR). [6] Weber Gale also won silver in the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay.
