Belliturgula is named .
DistributionSaudi Arabia , Riyadh, Derab Agricultural Research Station [24 ° 25'23 "N, 46 ° 39'01" E, at an altitude of 580 m. On the flowers of safflower (Astrov family ) [1] .
DescriptionSmall bees are pale yellow (length about 7 mm). Belliturgula najdica in some respects is similar to the genus Flavomeliturgula in that both have a very elongated gloss that is longer than the face and has a truncated apical part. The Belliturgula najdica species is distinguished by a very elongated and flattened first labial palpomere, the remaining palpomeres are unmodified, a strongly convex clypeus and a long upper lip devoid of dense net spots [1] . The species was first described in 2019 by the American entomologist Michael Angel . The genus is included in the tribe Melitturgini from the subfamily Panurginae . The species name B. najdica comes from the name Najd (a plateau in central Arabia, typical location), and the generic Belliturgula is given in honor of Gertrude Bell (1868-1926), a British writer, spy and traveler in the Middle East [1] [2 ] ] .
