Richard Slator Dunn (born August 9, 1928, Minneapolis, Minnesota) is an American historian and specialist in early American history. Doctor of Philosophy (1955), Member of the American Philosophical Society (1998), Emeritus Professor of the University of Pennsylvania . Marked by the Heisenberg Medal of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (2008), as well as the Award for Scholarly Distinction of the American Historical Association (2017).

Born to William P.
