In a quiet city of dreams

The third album, “In the Quiet City of Dreams,” Via Chappa began recording in 1999 and finished in 2000 at the Mucha studio in Ufa. To work on the album, the guys again gathered in four - the leader of the group Patrick (Ilya Tavliyarov), Shuralei, Dzhe and Izzy, although this was the last album, one of the co-founders of the group Dzhe took part in the recording. Along with this, inspired by a new authentic sound, Izzy returned to the group.

“In a quiet city of dreams” became one of the most conceptual hip-hop works of Russian rap music of the 90s and, according to Double V, “ favorably differed from the rest of the rap production of that time ” ^[1] . Aged in the style of gangsta rap, played with live instruments and replete with scratch and electronic effects, it, coupled with the street lyrics of the Ufa Four, has become a real inspiration for many fans of hip-hop culture of the countries of the former CIS, and still receives the highest ratings from the owners of the publication . Subsequently, he was repeatedly included in the lists of the best hip-hop and rap albums, in particular, in the opinion of the magazine Rap.ru as “ influencing the development of the genre, determining its face, becoming, in a sense, milestones ” ^[2]

The album was released by WWW Records on cassettes and CDs, it became gold, that is, more than 100 thousand copies were sold. In 2004, the album "In a quiet city of dreams" was musicians Via Chappa self-reprinted ^[3] at their own expense.

The album was designed by artist Roman Vasilievich Losev on the idea of ​​Ilya Tavliyarov.

The album contains 16 audio tracks and a video clip ^[4] for the title track of the same name, “In a Quiet City of Dreams,” shot by Mucha Studio (directed by Eduard Nuretdinov).

The 2004 re-release contains 16 audiotracks, the novelty “Rap Musician is Successful” and 2 versions of the video clip “In a Quiet City of Dreams” ^[5] .
