Personal life
Sartorius was born in Tulsa , Oklahoma . Immediately after birth, he was adopted by another family in Virginia , as his biological parents were not able to take care of the baby [3] . Jacob grew up in the small town of Reston . At the age of seven, he began to play in the musical theater , where he immediately realized how much he loves to speak to the public. There he met with the first insults in his direction [4] .
Jacob uploaded his first video to Vine in 2014 when he was 11 years old. There he gained great popularity after his video, in which he asked to stop the bullying in his direction. A year later, he registered at musical.ly , where his success began to gain momentum. His videos, where he performed numerous hits to the soundtrack, became very popular and it was thanks to them that he became the only person in musical.ly who had more than 14 million subscribers [5] [6] .
Because of his popularity, Sartorius had to change three schools. The reason for this was the persecution of his classmates, who “pushed him, persecuted and morally humiliated” [7] . Nevertheless, according to Jacob himself, social networks became a way out of this situation.
“ Before musical.ly, I was not particularly sociable. He helped me do what I want, to do a little lounging. Few people are interested in what is happening behind the camera . ”
On February 2, 2019, Sartorius, under one of his Instagram posts, said that he was taking anti-depressants and therapy at the age of eleven.
