Geography
The village is located in the northern part of the Oryol region, in the forest-steppe zone [2] , within the central part of the Central Russian Upland , near the source of the Metsnia River, about 2 kilometers (straight) west of the town of Mtsensk , the administrative center of the district.
The climate is characterized as moderately continental with moderately frosty winters and warm, sometimes hot summers. The average long-term temperature of the coldest month, January, is -9.4 ° С, the temperature of the warmest one is + 19 ° С [3] .
