Lake Krugloye on the western shore is adjacent to the village of Samus. The absolute mark of the mirror is 79.1 meters. Length 600 meters, width 500 meters. The lake is round in shape, with an area of about 0.2325 square kilometers (23.25 hectares) [3] . From all sides the lake is surrounded by pine trees. Shores are weakly cut, sandy beaches are expressed around the lake. At the moment, the lake has become shallow and dry, the water surface area has decreased by almost 1.5 times. Sandy soils with varying degrees of siltation (from clean sands to very silty) are widespread in the coastal areas from the edge to 1.5 m. The lake is closed, fresh, with a maximum depth of 3 meters. The transparency is small, the active reaction of the medium is neutral (pH = 7.00–7.11). The bottom is lined with sulphide sludge to a large extent, the coast - with varying degrees of processed sandstone. Aquatic vegetation is weakly expressed, in separate areas, and is represented by sedge, arrowhead, capsule, water- red, amphibian buckwheat [2] . The lake is home to crucian carp , pike , river perch .

The lake, together with the lakes Mitrevo , Maltsevo , Yakovo , located west of the lake, an unnamed artificial lake to the west of Maltsevo lake and an unnamed lake in the vicinity of Lake Yakovo, is part of the Specially Protected Natural Territory of local significance "Lake Complex of Samus." The lakes are confined to the surface of the second floodplain terrace of the Tom River. Lakes represent a single hydrological system connected by a natural surface runoff in the direction of gravitational transport. In the relief they are arranged in tiers. The lake occupies a subordinate position in the relief. Currently, the permanent connection of the lake with the neighboring lake Mitrevo has been lost, and the possibility of dumping excess water into the Tom River has also been lost [3] .
