Bardara ( tadzh. Bardara ) is a high mountain village in Tajikistan . It belongs to the Jamoat Basidu of the Rushan region of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region . The population is 620 people (2018). Located in the remote area of the Western Pamirs , on top of the fan [1] , on the right bank of the river of the same name , the left tributary of Bartang , 11 kilometers east of Basid and 90 kilometers north-east of the regional center of Rushan . During the years of Soviet power, residents of the village of Bardara, to get to the district center, crossed the path on foot. Goods and necessary products were delivered to the villages on donkeys . In the village there was no electricity. After the collapse of the USSR, local people, on their own initiative and on their own, manually built a dirt road from the Bartang valley to the village along the Bardara river valley, which greatly improved the lives of these people. Kishlak Bardara is the final settlement in this direction, but along the path you can go further to the headwaters of the River Bardara, the path leads to the Gunt valley. Currently, there are walkers on this trail.

On July 18, 2008, a small hydropower plant (SHPP) [2] with a capacity of 160 kW and a cost of 600 thousand somoni [3] (US $ 87 thousand), with financial support [4] , was commissioned in the village. [1] , school and medical center where people can get the necessary first aid.
History
According to legend, from the touch of the staff of Nasir Khosrov (1004-1088) in the village grew three junipers , which are the object of worship of local residents [1] [5] .
The kishlak is very ancient, the ruins of the fortress, which served as a refuge, have been preserved, since the kishlak in the past has been repeatedly attacked by the Kirghiz. Kirghiz made their way to the village along the gorge of the river Bardara, robbed and took away women.
According to the captain of the General Staff Sergei Vannovsky , who led the reconnaissance party in 1893 in the Bartang region, the population of three villages (Badurt, Bardar and Basid villages) for 3-4 months of work was hardly washed up to 100 grams of gold , which they paid to pay Afghans [ 6] [7] .
On December 7, 2015, the village suffered from an earthquake measuring 7-8 points with an epicenter 22 kilometers from Lake Sarez . At least one house was completely destroyed in the village [8] [9] .
In the winter of 2016–2017, the village was isolated and suffered because of abnormal cold and snowfall [10] [11] .
Funeral rites and customs
Pre -Islamic remnants remain in the customs and rites of the Bartangans associated with death and burial . Food is being taken out of the house of the dying man. Until the ceremony of cleansing is performed, on the third day of the funeral they do not cook or eat at the house of the deceased. This prohibition is observed only in a few places in Bartang ( Roshorv , Yapshorv , Bardara). The ban is associated with the idea of leaving the body of the dead invisible blood - the material manifestation of two human souls - "Ruh" and "John", which fills the house. The religion of Zoroastrianism is the idea that everything that is separated from a living organism is dead and unclean [12] . In the village of Bardara, on the third day of the funeral after dinner, the hotam — the assistant to the caliphs (healer) beheads the cleansing sacrifice — the rooster and throws him into the place where the body of the deceased lay — the main bunks in the house. The bird beats its wings for a while, raising dust and splashing blood, thus cleans the place from filth [13] .
