Format
In February 2019, it was announced that the format of the Super Bowl would be changed - instead of the usual two participating teams, a mini-tournament of four teams would be held. The tournament will include 2 semifinal matches and a final (a match for 3rd place will not be held). [1] [2] The Super Bowl will be held in one city outside of Spain . In addition, the matches will take place not in the “preseason” ( August month), but in the period of January 8-12, 2020 .
The tournament will be attended by both finalists of the Spanish Cup 2018/2019 , as well as the two best teams of the Spanish Championship 2018/2019 , who did not qualify through the final of the cup. [3]
