Geography
It is located in the southern part of the Luzhitsky Lakes region, approximately to the west of the village of Delny Vuyezd . In the north of the village there is a railway line and highway S 108.
Neighboring settlements: in the east - the village of Delny-Vuyezd, in the southeast - the village of Manev , in the south - the village of Rudey , in the west - the village of Drevtsy of the commune of Loza and in the north-west - the village of Lipiny [2] .
History
First mentioned in 1501 under the name Drene [3] .
From 1974 to 2007, it was part of the Uhist commune. Since 2007, it has been part of the modern commune of Boxberg [4] .
Currently, the village is part of the cultural and territorial autonomy of the “ Luzhitsky Settlement Region ”, on the territory of which there are legislative acts of the lands of Saxony and Brandenburg, contributing to the preservation of the Luzhitsky languages and the culture of Luzhic [5] [6] .

Population
The official language in the village, in addition to German , is also Upper Luzhsky .
According to the statistical work “Dodawki k statisticy a etnografiji łužickich Serbow” by Arnost Muki, in 1884 165 people lived in the village (165 of them Serboluzhichans (100%)) [8] .
The Luzhitsky demographer Arnosht Chernik in his essay Die Entwicklung der sorbischen Bevölkerung indicates that in 1956, with a total population of 144 people, the Serbluzhitsky population of the village was 81.9% (of which 96 were adults and 22 minors) [9] .
