History

January 29 [1] 1968 on the basis of the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute , the Special Design Bureau of Technical Cybernetics (OKB TK) was created.

In 1973-1986 (architects Artyushin B.I., Savin S.) a building was erected for the institute on the corner of the Tikhoretsky and Svetlanovsky Prospekt, on the territory of the former state farm Lesnoye-Benoit a couple of hundred meters from Benoit's cottage . In June 1981, the Design Bureau was transformed into the Central Research Institute of Robotics and Technical Cybernetics (TsNII RTK); in June 1994, the Institute received the status of the State Scientific Center of the Russian Federation. The dominant feature of the complex is a 77-meter tower with an antenna, with a height of almost 105 meters. The tower is a laboratory for testing space technology [2] .

OKB TK participated in the development of soft landing control systems for Soyuz spacecraft (soft landing control systems, life support systems and others are supplied to Soyuz at the moment [3] ) and the Luna-16 automatic station. In 1986-1987, the Institute participated in the creation and operation of mobile robots for radiation reconnaissance and the aftermath of the Chernobyl accident , and in the early 1990s, in the creation of a robotic manipulator system for the Buran spacecraft.

The main activities of the Central Research Institute of the RTK are mechatronics and robotics, intelligent control systems, photon and optoelectronic equipment, special and space instrumentation, laser technology, space technology, information control systems and simulators.

Among the most important developments of the institute are mobile robotic systems for special applications and safety, land, air and sea radiation control and monitoring systems, soft landing control systems and spacecraft life support systems, vision systems for guarding and managing objects, network processors (screens) and information security systems.
