A constitutional referendum in Benin was held on December 2, 1990. The main issue concerned the introduction of a multi-party political system . A secondary issue was the age limit for the president. As a result, the introduction of a multi-party system was approved by 93.2% of the votes cast by the voters, while 73.3% of voters voted for the age limit for the president [1] .
