Biography
Born on October 16, 1948 in the village of Novolozovatka, Krivorozhsky District, Dnipropetrovsk Region, Ukrainian SSR .
He graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics and Technology of Kryvyi Rih Mining Institute with a degree in mechanical engineering in 1971. In 1983 he defended his thesis for the title of candidate of technical sciences, the theme of the dissertation was “Studies of the process of diffuse chromium plating using chromium oxide to increase the reliability and durability of mining machines”.
From 1971 to 1990 he worked as a process engineer, senior process engineer, head of the technology bureau, deputy chief technologist, deputy chief engineer, party committee secretary, chief engineer, director of the Communist mining equipment plant in Kryvyi Rih.
In 1990, during the first alternative parliamentary elections in the Ukrainian SSR, he was nominated as a candidate for people's deputies by the labor collective of the Kryvyi Rih mining equipment plant "Communist", on March 18, 1990, in the second round, he was elected as a deputy of the Supreme Council of the Ukrainian SSR of the XII convocation (hereinafter - the Supreme glad of Ukraine I convocation ) from the Central City constituency No. 94 of the Dnipropetrovsk region, won 66.76% of the vote among 5 candidates. In parliament, he was a member of the faction "New Ukraine", "Industrialists", was the chairman of the commission on the development of basic sectors of the economy. The deputy powers expired on May 10, 1994.
In the parliamentary elections in April 1994, he was nominated as a candidate for People’s Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the second convocation , according to the results of voting in the second round, he received 39.52% of the vote and took second place out of 24 candidates. In November 1994, he was elected People’s Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 2nd convocation in the Novgorod-Seversky constituency No. 448 of the Chernihiv region , receiving 63.11% of the vote among 7 applicants and taking the mandate of Leonid Kuchma , previously elected president of Ukraine. The deputy powers expired on May 12, 1998.
In the parliamentary elections in 2006, he was elected People's Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the V convocation from the Party of Regions , No. 141 in the party list. He was a member of the Party of Regions faction, was the head of the subcommittee on antitrust policy, economic competition and entrepreneurship of the Committee on Economic Policy. The deputy powers expired on November 23, 2007.
On February 15, 2011, he became a people's deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the VI convocation after the Verkhovna Rada had previously terminated the powers of nine deputies who combined a deputy mandate with work in executive bodies. He was a member of the Party of Regions faction, was a member of the budget committee. The deputy powers expired on December 12, 2012.
