History
Until 2015, the canton included the communes of Direnon , La Foret- Landerno , Landerno , Pankran , Pludern , Saint-Divi , Saint-Tonan and Tremauesan .
As a result of the 2015 reform [1], the composition of the canton was changed.

The canton consists of communes (population according to the National Institute of Statistics for 2015 ):

- La Foret Landerno (1 849 people)
- Landerno (15 836 people)
- Lanofre (149 people)
- Pankran (1 946 people)
- Pludern (2 795 people)
- Saint-Divi (1,540 people)
- Saint-Tonan (1 755 people)
- Tremauesan (568 people)
Policy
In the 2017 presidential election, the canton residents cast in the 1st round to Emmanuel Macron 32.7% of the vote against 18.9% of Jean-Luc Melanson , 15.9% of Francois Fillon and 12.4% of Marine Le Pen ; in the 2nd round, Macron won the canton, receiving 80.6% of the vote. (2012 1st round: Francois Hollande - 37.8%, Nicolas Sarkozy - 22.6%, Francois Bayreux - 12.6%; 2nd round: Hollande - 61.4%).
Since 2015, the canton has been represented on the Council of the Finister Department by the vice mayors of the city of Landerno, Marie-José Cunin ( Miscellaneous Rights ) and Ivan Mullec ( Union of Democrats and Independents ).
