Matskin, Chaim

He graduated from the medical faculty of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1977. In 1990, he completed his specialization in urology at the Surasky Medical Center. After that he passed clinical residency in the USA - at the universities of Tennessee and Miami ^[1] . He began his professional career in 1981 at the Israel Defense Forces , as head of the Department of Epidemiology. Since 1992, he worked in the Department of Urology at the Surasky Medical Center as a senior doctor, and in 1996 he headed this department. One of the first in Israel to start brachytherapy for prostate cancer . He is also involved in the surgical treatment of cancer of the genitourinary system and performs operations for prostate adenoma . Since 1992, he has been teaching at the Medical Faculty of Tel Aviv University . Since 2000, he is a professor at this university.

The professor is the author of 136 scientific articles, 26 review articles, 2 chapters in monographs ^[2] . Most of the scientific publications of the professor are devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer of the genitourinary system: prostate, bladder. The professor also investigated the effectiveness of drug treatments for benign prostatic hyperplasia. Another topic of his work is minimally invasive treatment of urolithiasis (percutaneous nephrolithotomy) ^[3] .
