Tsypnavolok ( S. Samsk. Sabbenjárga, Sabbenjarga ; fin. Tsipniemi, Tsipniemi ) - a village in the Pechenga district of the Murmansk region . Located on the Rybachy Peninsula , on the shores of the Barents Sea . In 1867, a settlement of Norwegian fishermen was founded on Cape Tsypnavolok. According to 1929, 114 Norwegians were identified in the village, which became the basis for the creation (in 1930 ) of the Norwegian National Village Council. The fishing national collective farm "Polar Star" was organized. However, officially the Norwegians of Tsypnavolok were not considered a national minority, which is why the teaching at the local school was not in Norwegian, but in Russian. In 1939 - 40, the Norwegian Village Council was liquidated, and the Norwegians were evicted to the south of Karelia , and then to the Arkhangelsk region . After the war, the Norwegians were allowed to return to the Murmansk region, but not to Tsypnavolok, where a large military unit was stationed, but to the village of Port Vladimir .
