Azerbaijan’s Grand Prix of 2019 (officially Formula 1 SOCAR Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2019 ) is a car race, the fourth stage of the Formula 1 World Cup in the 2019 season , which was held on April 28 on the city highway in Baku ^[1] .

Qualification

Weather: Clear. Dry. Air + 14 ... 16C, highway + 26 ... 35C. Qualification was twice interrupted by red flags: after the time of the first segment ended, Robert Kubica hit the wall in the eighth turn, because of the need to evacuate the car and restore the barriers, the start of the second session was postponed for 25 minutes, and during it Charles Lecler crashed his car exactly the same place as Kubica half an hour before. Following the results of the first session, the protocol was unexpectedly headed by Pierre Gasley, despite the fact that even before the start of the races it was known that its result would not matter due to the penalty of starting from the pit lane ^[3] .

1. ↑ Antonio Giovinazzi received a fine with the loss of ten places at the start, due to the installation of the third block of control electronics.

2. ↑ Robert Kubica started from the pit lane, due to the replacement of the front suspension, brakes, steering and settings.

3. ↑ Kimi Raikkonen initially qualified as the ninth, but was then excluded from the protocol for violating the flexibility of the front wing.

4. ↑ Pierre Gasley was disqualified for violating the fuel consumption limit.
