Venue Selection
Initially, Sarajevo and Istochno-Sarajevo were supposed to host the 2017 festival , while Turkish Erzurum was chosen as the host of such competitions in 2019 [3] . However, due to the fact that Sarajevo and Istochno-Sarajevo did not have time to prepare for the competition by the scheduled time, in November 2015 the Bosnian and Turkish sides agreed to exchange tournaments, and the 2017 Festival was held in Erzurum, the sports facilities of which were built for the Universiade -2011 , already met the necessary requirements [4] .
Opening Ceremony
The opening ceremony of the XIV Winter European Youth Olympic Festival took place on February 10, 2019 at 19:00 local time at the Koshevo Stadium, the largest sports arena in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The fire of the Olympic festival was lit by the Bosnian judoka Larisa Tserich [6] , and the start of the competition was given by a member of the Presidium of the country Milorad Dodik [7] .
