Tugomir Marko Alaupovic ( Croatian Tugomir Alaupović ; August 18, 1870 , Travnik , Ottoman Empire (now Bosnia and Herzegovina ) - April 9, 1958 , Zagreb , SFRY ) - Croatian writer , poet of Bosnian origin, teacher , professor , Doctor of Sciences, politician , statesman, Minister of Religious Affairs of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia (1918).

Teacher and mentor Ivo Andrich , the only Yugoslav writer who has been awarded the Nobel Prize in literature.

Biography

Early left an orphan. He studied with the Franciscans in Dock, at the gymnasium in Travnik, Sarajevo and Zagreb . Later he studied Slavic and classical philology at the universities of Zagreb and Vienna .

He served as a professor at the gymnasium in Sarajevo, director of a school in Tuzla , worked as an employee of the Department of Education, and as the head of secondary schools in Bosnia and Herzegovina .

The first Bosnian to defend his doctoral dissertation in Vienna in 1894.

An ardent patriot and democrat . Due to pro-Yugoslav orientation, he was released from military service in 1915 and put on trial, later released. In 1916 he was interned in a Franciscan monastery in Sarajevo. A year later, he moved to Zagreb and from mid-1918 until the end of the war was the secretary of the literary, scientific and educational society " Mother of Croatia ".

After the creation of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, he became Minister of Religion in the first government.
