Biography

He graduated from St. Petersburg State University with a degree in philosophy (2006). He defended his thesis on philosophy "Public Speaking as a Source of Historicity" (2010).

Together with Alexander Skidan , Pavel Arsenyev and Katie Chukhrov participated in the editing of the transliteration almanac [1] .

The author of a number of works on modern philosophy and psychoanalysis, as well as the first Russian-language monograph describing the contribution of the psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan to the theory and clinic of the neurosis of obsessive states. He is the organizer and permanent presenter of the seminar "Lacan-educational program", which contributed to the dissemination of the Lacanian theory among Russian-speaking listeners and is widely known among specialists and readers interested in Lacan's thought. Each season of the seminar is a study and study of the basic concepts of classical and Lacanian psychoanalysis and at the same time illuminates the current state of world psychoanalytic thought and practice [2] .

What drives a psychoanalyst? How is his desire structured? Alexander Smulansky gives energetic, detailed, unorthodox answers to these and other difficult questions that make you think about the very foundations of psychoanalytic theory and practice, which allow us to realize and soberly evaluate the achievements and problems of modern psychoanalysis.
Elena Petrovskaya, philosopher, Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences. ("The Metaphor of the Father and the Analyst's Desire").

The first years of the seminars were held at the Freud’s Dream Museum .

On March 21, 2017, on the COLTA website, material was published entitled “Psychoanalyst - Not an Activist” [3] . The material discussed the reasons why a person turns to a psychoanalyst:

It is not the neurotic symptom itself that leads to the subject’s own analysis, but the anxiety that he brings out of his conditionally enlightened environment and which obsessively drives him to the path of recognition, where he gets confused in fruitless attempts to produce a product and thereby pay tribute to this environment.
